This is another creation that I recently made for my Knect group. The original recipe that I found on the internet asks for making a cake and then putting the Kit-Kat bars all around the sides and then add strawberries, m&m's, or smarties, whatever you want the barrel to hold. I didn't feel like making a cake so i just used a clear mixing bowl instead and put some melted chocolate around the bowl so that the Kit-Kat bars could stick. Once the barrel aspect was done I simply added strawberries into the bowl and then wa-la there you have it a Kit-Kat Barrel of Strawberries. My Knect group loved it....especially the Kit-Kats.

Cupcake Sliders: A Full Meal Deal (Dinner made out of Cupcakes)
I recently came across a few cool ideas for cupcakes. One was cupcake sliders, to make cupcake sliders all you need to do is cut a cupcake in half and insert a brownie. To make it look like it has condiments on it simply just use coloured icing. Once the appetizers were done I then started working on the two side dishes which were Peas & Carrots and Mashed Potatoes & Gravy. To make the Peas & Carrots Cupcakes I simply went out and purchased some orange starbursts and cut them into four pieces to act as carrots. I also bought some tropical skittles and picked out all the green ones to act as peas. I then placed these all on top of the cupcake. I then started to make the mashed potatoes and gravy which was the easiest to make. Simply just add extra white icing and made a small hole in the middle of the cupcake and pour in some caramel sauce. Once that part of the meal was done now it was time for the main course, which was a chicken drumstick. To make this simple crush some Vanilla Oreo Cookies to act as shake and bake. Then mould a drumstick leg out of white modelling chocolate and there you have it a complete full meal deal made out of cupcakes. Check out the video on how I made them....
Strawberry ShortDonuts
This year for Christmas I received a mini donut maker from the site Thinkgeek.com. After making them a couple of times I have found that the best tasting donuts are the donuts that are made out of cupcake mix. So instead of bringing a whole bunch of mini donuts to my knect group I thought it would be best to try and combine the mini donuts with something else. A girl that I work with recently showed me how to insert whipped cream into strawberries, so I decided to combine the two ideas and create a Strawberry ShortDonut. The results were amazing they tasted just like mini Strawberry Shortcakes.
Sword in the Stone Treats
I recently purchased some ice cube sword trays from ThinkGeek.com. I thought it would be a good idea to try and put chocolate in the moulds instead of use them for an ice cubes. So I went out and bought modelling chocolate, white, blue, and yellow. To make the grey coloured chocolate I mixed in a little black food colouring. Once the swords were done, I once again used rice crispies and fondant to make the boulders. I then used a normal kitchen knife and made a little insert slot so I could insert the chocolate swords in without them breaking. Here is a video I made on how it was done.
Fruit Peacock
For Mother's Day, my sister Elizabeth and I decided to do something special for our mother. We knew how much she liked fruit arrangements so we decided to make our own. We decided on making a fruit peacock. We started of buying some fruits and veggies to create this masterpiece. We used a small watermelon for the body, a carrot for the neck, a strawberry for the head and raisons for the eyes. To make the fan of feathers we used an assortment of fruits.
THE DEATH STAR REMADE (with Fondant)
I enjoyed making the rice crispie globe so much that I decided to do it again. This time however I decided to make the Death Star (which is from Star Wars) instead. This time instead of making a base I went to the Michael's store and bought paper that looked like space with twinkling stars. I made the Death Star the same way as I made the globe. I made it out of rice crispie square and moulded it into a ball by using two bowls. I then covered the rice crispies in vanilla icing and then applied the grey fondant. Once the grey fondant was on I began to a tooth pick and carve out all the little groves to make it look more like the death star rather than a grey ball. Once that was complete I taped the space paper to a plate. Once that was complete I got just enough saran wrap to place at the bottom of the death star so the sparkles on the paper did not get on the fondant. Once the saran wrap was laid I placed the death start on top. And this was the result .....

Baby Shower Cupcakes
I was invited to go to a surprise baby shower for a person in my knect group. Each of us were asked to bring a dessert to share. I decided to make some baby in a blanket cupcakes that I saw on the internet. After baking the cupcakes and putting a strawberry vanilla icing on them, I started to make the fondant. I Made three different colours. White fondant for the bedding, pink fondant for the blanket, and skin colour for the baby's head. After placing the white fondant on the cupcakes, I then placed a mini white marshmallow in the middle of the cupcake. I then placed the pink blanket on top. I then rolled the skin colour fondant into a ball to create the head. I then placed the head near the top of the marshmallow. Once that was complete I took some black food colouring and painted the eyes and mouth on the baby's head. To finish it off I created one large baby head at the top of the cupcake pyramid and inserted a baby soother.
